The Abbey Church of St Mary and St Melor

Amesbury itself has the parish church of St. Mary and St. Melor which is even older than Salisbury Cathedral and well worth a visit. Legend has it that Queen Guinevere, wife of King Arthur came to visit the church.

You are just 15 minutes from Salisbury Cathedral. The gothic Cathedral contains the world's oldest working clock (from AD 1386) and has one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta.
